Club and Full Gas Crew Challenges.
Club challenges are not new - we've had success with them over the years with various people ticking off fantastic achievements. So this is a revamp of what's gone before (you will see a few ride reports from previous challenges below).
What's different this time is that we're stealing some ideas from the likes of Strava and Zwift where achievements are gamified, in that you unlock badges and virtual kit as you progress and gain experience, the only difference here is that you'll be rewarded with actual physical kit to show you got yourself into one of the crews (and the kit will be exclusive to those that make the crews, so can be worn as a badge of honour).
So through the year, you tick off the elements needed to get into the crew you are aiming at, and once all the requirements are fulfilled, you will receive your kit that shows you made that crew.
For 2018/19 the kit will be a pair of socks that denote the crew you are in.
There are 2 levels of challenges here aimed at different people:
- Club Crew: Aimed at new people and focuses on getting involved in club activities and meeting people. We see this as the perfect gateway into the club.
-
Full Gas Crew: This is aimed at the seasoned club member and focuses on more epic things and being connected and engaged in the club. We want it to be a stretch for anyone to get into this crew.
So... Here are the challenges for the 2018/19 season (up until the AGM)
