Makara return this week.

A couple of people said they'd like a longer, 150k, ride, so I'll post this a little earlier to give people time to prepare for (or avolid) it. Or indeed suggest it's a bit hilly for a 150k endurance ride. All feedback welcome.

The plan is Paekak Hill, Whitby rollers and then down through Tawa and into Ohariu valley, all the way to the top of Makara Hill and return. We can either come back the way we went or slide up to Grays Rd and avoid the rollers. Or indeed come straight back up the state highway to cut out even more climbing.

Compared to that route we might avoid the shortish sharp shock of Ironside rd and go into Ohariu via the longer but less steep Westchester Drive route. We'll also most likely turn round at the top of Makara Hill, rather than down the other side in Karori. Depending on route options, it'll be somewhere between 135 and 155 k. Lots of turnback options for those who don't want to do the full route.

Hopefully the weather will be a little more encouraging than last Sunday. Coffee probably at No.6 if anyone still has the time or energy after that ride.
