Emerald Glen – Race 2

The weather for race 2 was certainly an improvement from race one, although the number racing is disappointing, the quality of the racing is not. Nine riders lined up for the battle in Group One and six in Group Two.

The quiet road lends itself to challenging and safe racing with the testing climb from the bottom turn adding to the course attraction. Group One averaged 7 mins per lap around the 4.3km course in an aggressive battle for bragging rights. The 8-x lap circuit provided an excellent test for the riders in skill, fitness and “race cunning”. The pace was kept on throughout with the fireworks exploding on the final lap as Tristan once again showed a clean pair of heels taking out the win from Greg with Peter completing the podium places.

In Group Two the six riders competed over six laps averaging approx. 8 mins per lap, the smaller group soon disintegrated as Adrian used his superior strength to power away and take out the win from Andy and John with Glynis taking out first women across the line.
