Kapiti CC –The Boxing Day Tootle this year had an interesting twist to it. Glynis resourceful as ever introduced a Rogaine (or Scavenger Hunt) for the intrepid eight riders braving hangovers and over indulgence to pit their brains and cycling legs against the tasks ahead.

The team was tasked to find, photograph, bring an object back from given locations (i.e. a stone, flower, red leaf etc). A quick dash down to Paraparaumu to the first task, the child on the statue then it was out over the cycle path to Paekak for a number of tasks in the area, immediate disappoint set in when we discovered the cafés closed in the village. Hastily gathering all the photographs, flowers and stones duly required it was back to Paraparaumu for, yet another disappointment, the only café open in Raumati appeared to have a barista in absentia, no coffee there. Head down and over the bridge to pick up the final tasks in Waikanae before a well deserved coffee at Long beach with the numerous other riders out for a mornings jaunt.

Well done Glynis, an entertaining morning in beautiful sunshine and finishing with a coffee, bliss.
