Kapiti Cycling Club - Nga Manu Race Series

Tuesday 2nd October 2018 Race One

The first of the four-race series was held on the quiet traffic free circuit under damp and chilly conditions, fortunately the conditions did not deter a determined bunch from competing. Eight registered riders started as one group which, once settled down developed into a hard-fought race. Strongman Anthony Nalder soon powered away as is his style and was never caught. The bunch then settled into similar ability pairs, Andrew and Richard followed by Lee and Harrison with Adrian and Peg chasing hard. Tony was forced to pull the pin, the hard-daily commute finally shredding his legs.

The forty minutes plus two laps proved to be both a physical and mental test as the riders lapped out under the evening showers. Well done to all the finishers.
