It was nice to see a few more faces for the second Tuesday night’s racing at Southwards even with that cheeky wind and the threat of rain (that thankfully never happened). Hopefully you all enjoyed yourselves and will spread the word of some fun to be had of a Tuesday.

Greg was race manager for the night, which, as always he did without seeming to try, and even got his own race in. Doug managed B Grade (so that Greg could go and show what he’s made of) and also marshalled, with both of them also setting up and taking down all course cones and signage.

Please come and try this awesome circuit if you can, it’s the best fun and I’m sure you won’t regret it.

Remember that racing is at Southwards for the next 7 weeks and next Tuesday, 20 December 2016, is the last race evening before Christmas.

We will have a BBQ up and running at this race so we’d love to see you stick around for a wee while after your race if you’re able to have a nibble and a chat before we all go and get ready for family celebrations. I’m sure you’re as excited as I am knowing that we’ll all be finding a fast new bike under the tree from the good Santa bloke.

Thanks again to those who are pre-entering, it’s going well. Simply email name and preferred grade to Club Captain, Doug Barrett at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. before Tuesday mid-day.

If not pre-registered, please to do this at the club trailer at Southwards well before your race start.

Start time for adult grades will be 6.00PM with kids racing from 5.00PM. There are four grades, from Beginner through to A Grade, with the lower grade races starting first. This format gives those in the higher grades who have to travel from Wellington a bit more time to get there and warmed up before your start.

The cost to race is $5 for a licensed rider and $15 for a non-licensed rider. Every rider will be asked to produce their licence so remember to bring it with you.

If you are already licenced you are covered until 31 December 2016 so it’s time to think about your renewal for 2017. For complete new-comers you have a three race ‘trial period’ before deciding whether you would like to become part of the club, after which you must be licensed.
