The Boxing Day Tootle was something that started at the Ramblers Club in the Hawkes Bay - and was brought to us by Derek Ward who instigated it here.

Essentially the Tootle is a Christmas Day recovery ride..  A very relaxed social ride - with the odd points where Christmas cake is up for grabs for those that win a couple of designated sprint points or very minor hill climbs.   It's a nice easy pace - with the sprint points for those that want them.    We'll regroup after it's been decided who 'takes the cake' at each point.

After Derek moved back to the Hawkes Bay - Glynis Te Maipi-Kemp took over the reigns of the Tootle.

It will be starting at the back of Coastlands at 8am and Glynis has set a course that heads south to Paekakariki via the bike path - takes in a tour of Paekak (including a Christmas Cake sprint point).  And then returns to Paraparaumu and onto Waikanae (via various roads that Glynis will divulge on the day) and will then take in a look at the new circuit we are going to race on in Waikanae out at the end of Ngarara Road (the Nga Manu circuit) and then heading back to Long Beach for a cuppa and a chinwag... It's around 50km of riding with the odd sprint point but otherwise chatting pace.

Add a bit of Chrismas bling to your bike - or go completely mad and dress up.  Completely up to you
