Well the weather on the Coast held of long enough for another day of racing

Again a huge thank you to the volunteers that gave up their opportunity to race, to set up, marshal, manage and admin todays racing.  As you all know, without the volunteers we don’t have racing!!

Let’s get the bad stuff out of the way first.  Please remember that the roads are open and that we must respect and obey the road rules.  This does mean that the center line is to be respected.  Please keep to your side of the road – as the race manager mentioned “Please do not cross the center line”.  The Marshalls have identified a number of riders that we will have a quiet word to next week.

A few highlights from the day!!

The reduced numbers in A Grade didn’t bode well for the sprinters – But Vaughn Pretorius and Dan Waluszewski put in a great show for the spectators at the finish line.  Vaughn held onto first, Dan Second, with Steve Bale taking in a solid third to go one place better than last week.

The B-Grade peloton got put to the test – a Strong breakaway of five riders looked to have it to themselves with less than 3km to go – but the Peloton got a move on and timed the close perfectly. Swamping the breakaway in the sprint finish.  Steve O’Keefe got it on the line from Chris Muir and Bruce Cook in third.

Last week Rick Parker took C-Grade by half a bike length from Josh Turnball – this week it was only half a wheel.  Lee Pownell jumped from 10th last week to a solid third.

Now to the closest result of the day.  Stanley Riddle had just .23 of a second between his wheel and the lunge of Joe Clarkson.  We will need to see if this can get any closer next week.  Martin Crundwell held onto third.

The Results can be found HERE

We will see you all next weekend

If you have raced in either of the previous rounds, there is no need to re register for Round 3. If you haven't raced in the series so far, please register HERE  for Round 3
